Samsung Led Live Lights Up Oaklands Park
Sydney, 23 November 2009 – Residents of Oaklands Park and surrounding suburbs will be given the chance to experience the very best of technology and visual art as Samsung brings its Digital Art Installation, LED LiVE, to Westfield Marion from 19 November - 22 November.
Inspired by the brand’s 2009 LED advertising campaign featuring a hummingbird, Samsung’s LED LiVE Bird stands at six metres and has been constructed out of 26 new Samsung LED TVs and 52 computer hard drives – creating a unique bird structure that needs to be seen to be believed!
Visitors will not only have the chance to get hands on with Samsung’s cutting edge TV technology, but they will also have the chance to win a premium Samsung 46-inch Series 6 LED television as Samsung Electronics Australia brings the latest in television technology to shopping centres across Australia.
To bring the Samsung Bird to life, Samsung partnered with the Australian Film Institute (AFI), to create a nation-wide competition for aspiring film and digital content creators to develop a 60 second short film or digital content piece that told a story that encapsulated all the things that the Samsung LED TV stands for.
“Samsung’s new LED range is built on four distinct pillars: connectivity, slim design, energy efficiency and picture quality. We were excited to receive 108 entries from some of Australia’s best and brightest young filmmakers creating 108 different stories that met the creative and technical brief to show consumers each of these elements first hand and ensure that the innovation on the screens matches the technology on show,” said Mark Leathan, Head of Marketing – Consumer Electronics, Samsung Electronics Australia.
"LED LiVE will capture the attention of consumers and extend our hummingbird television advertisements used in the Samsung LED TV launch. We're delighted with the result of the Bird and working with the AFI, and encourage consumers to come down and have the chance to win one of these new species of televisions."
The winners, Ben Crisp and Miles Rowland, and the two other AFI finalists will have their work on show as the Samsung LED LiVE tours across Australia. Visit Westfield Marion to get your TV demonstration and go into the draw to win a Samsung 46-inch Series 6 LED television.
