Movielink Acquired by Blockbuster

Santa Monica video download service Movielink has been acquired by Blockbuster, the video rental chain.

The Business Acquisition was announced Wednesday.

Blockbuster did not disclose terms of the Acquisition.

Movielink offers Internet movie rentals and download to own titles.

Movielink was formed in 2002.

Blockbuster said that it plans to continue to operate the Movielink service, and will eventually make the video on demand service available through its website.
