Medical Assistant

JOB DESCRIPTION: Responsible for routine clinical duties such as taking vital signs, performing simple diagnostic tests, collecting specimens, drawing blood, sterilizing and cleaning equipment and maintaining examination rooms in an outpatient care setting. May also be responsible for some administrative duties. All duties and patient interaction performed in accordance with Emory Healthcare patient and family centered care standards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED required. Basic computer skills preferred. One year work experience preferred. Certificate verifying successful completion of a medical assistant training program accredited by Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) required. Current BCLS (CPR) certification or must successfully complete a BCLS class at Emory Healthcare before administering direct patient care.
