Jamie Durie - Manpower Model
Television Host and Entrepreneur
His impressive list of skills include: Manpower model, water skiing, scuba diving (NAVI certified), surfing, acrobatics, snowboarding, competition volleyball, abseiling, rollerblading, soccer,
tennis, dance, Jazz & Contemporary, landscape designer and horticulturist.
It's the last skill which many Australians would recognise Jamie Durie for these days. Jamie Durie is host of the Channel Nine's "Backyard Blitz," where he and his team, in no more than 48 hours,
make-over the gardens of unsuspecting Australians.
Nothing like a bit of gardening to get the heart pumping! Jamie's list of television appearances, both here and overseas, is long and impressive.
There are too many appearances to mention, but some include: numerous appearances on Channel Nine's "The Midday Show"; "Donahue" in New York (1992); "One West Waikiki" (1994) in Los Angeles; "Las
Vegas Today" (1995); "Entertainment Tonight" and "MTV Beachouse" in Los Angeles (both 1995); "The Today Show" in Johannesburg in South Africa (1996); "Hard Copy," "Lifestyles," and "MTV Beachouse" in
Los Angeles (1996); Channel Nine's "Pacific Drive" (1996); "The G.M. Show" on TV N.Z. (1997); and Channel Nine's "IMT" (1997).
With such an active lifestyle, it's no wonder Jamie was keen to come on board as an Active Australia Day Ambassador.
