Clients - Our Highest Priority. KHGK is an exceptionally stable and collegial firm. Our culture permits our attorneys to place the highest priority on providing clients with excellent legal work and
individualized attention. The entire firm discusses every new project in its weekly meetings. These initial discussions are often the starting place for a firmwide dialogue on strategic and legal
issues that continues throughout the project. In this way, the firm can bring its collective experience and expertise to bear on every project. Project Management. We offer our clients the
sophistication of big-firm practice and the responsiveness and cost-effective service of a small firm. KHGK's staffing practices ensure that highly skilled and experienced professionals are involved
in every project that the firm takes on. Our attorneys bring a hands-on approach to client problems. The firm deliberately has rejected the "pyramid" staffing model of many firms in which partners
generate work and associates perform it. We hire few associates and train them intensively as litigators, and rely heavily on experienced, well-trained litigation paralegals. On average, each member
of the firm has more than 27 years experience, and each paralegal more than 15. Seven of the firm's nine members are listed among the top lawyers in Colorado in the most recent edition of The Best
Lawyers in America (2007 ed.). The firm's members have received widespread recognition from their peers and the community as a whole, serving as officers of area bar associations, lecturing and
publishing on legal issues, and serving on community and nonprofit boards. Cost Efficiency. KHGK strives to reduce the cost and increase the efficiency of its services to clients. We make extensive
use of technology, employing a firm-wide computer brief bank and conducting most legal research online at a reduced cost to our clients. We also employ full-text retrieval systems for deposition
research, database software for document management in appropriate cases, and spreadsheet, financial affidavit, and child support software in domestic relations cases. We maintain records of jury
verdicts and district court opinions going back many years, files of jury instructions, and a proprietary database of unpublished Colorado appellate opinions in domestic relations cases. Community
Service. All of the lawyers at KHGK treat pro bono and community service work as integral parts of their practice. The firm is an active participant in the Metro Volunteer Lawyers Program (Thursday
Night Bar), representing indigent clients on a variety of legal matters, and also belongs to the Colorado Lawyers Committee. Pro bono and public interest cases often come to the firm through the work
of its lawyers on nonprofit boards, bar association committees, and neighborhood, civic, and political activities. KHGK has successfully lobbied for state legislation regulating the conversion of
nonprofit health providers from nonprofit to for profit status, and represented the public interest in groundbreaking litigation involving the conversion of Blue Cross from a nonprofit to a for
profit entity, a matter that required Blue Cross to pay $155 million to create a foundation to provide for public health needs. It has been on the cutting edge of the law in advocating for and
against numerous ballot initiatives. It represented neighborhood groups in litigation against the City of Denver to preserve the City's parks and to control noise pollution at Stapleton Airport. It
has brought nationally significant litigation on behalf of Title VII plaintiffs in addition to representing employers in employment cases.
