Italy continues to buy Philippine coconut, from a high of 41,250 MT in 2005, but this was drastically reduced to 16,680 MT the following year only to rebound to 37,848 MT in 2007, 37.848 MT the following year and 34,160 MT in 2009.

Spain appears to be the only bright spot for coconut oil in EU, with Madrid buying 6,000 MT in 2005, raising it to 15,060 MT the following year, 17,106 MT in 2007, 12,953 MT in 2008 and 23,380 MT two years ago
