Civil Engineer

Location: Alpharetta, GA

Responsibilities: Under administrative direction of the Senior Engineer, manages inspection and maintenance of City owned separate storm sewer system; may provide supervisory esponsibilities and Requirements:Manages inspection and maintenance of City owned separate storm sewer system.Verifies the work of assigned employees for accuracy, proper work methods, techniques, and compliance with applicable standards and specifications; ensures adherence to safe work practices and procedures.Performs preliminary and final reviews of site plans and subdivision plats for compliance with City standards, procedures, and applicable codes/ordinances; reviews site development plans, survey plats, hydrological studies, detention basin studies, flood studies and FEMA letter of map revisions; reviews various site plans relating to hydraulics, hydrology, traffic, transportation, materials, grading, infrastructure layout, utilities, and other areas.Meets with Community Development department staff to coordinate plan review and staff comments.Participates in the erosion control program for the City including conducting site inspections of projects for compliance with site plans, and issuing stop work orders and levying violation fines as necessary.
