Tuesday, June 8th, 2010 | Posted by Jay GomezCito Culver gets drafted by the NY Yankees in first-round pickChristopher Cito Culver was drafted as 32nd overall pick in the first-round by the New York Yankees.The 17-year-old shortstop from Irondequoit High School in Rochester, New York has batted .561 (37-for-66) with 10 doubles, five triples, nine home runs, 38 RBI and 20 walks in 22 regular season games as a senior in the last season, according to Culvers school website.We were able to draft a very athletic kid who can play a good shortstop,"said Yankees vice president of amateur Scouting Damon Oppenheimer.He has a plus arm, is a solid runner and is an excellent hitter.
