Check Into Places, Check Into People, Check Into Commune

Think about it... there aren't any sites good at helping people meet people. Facebook is great at keeping in touch with people you already know, but finding new people is often cumbersome. Dating sites exist but what if you just want to make friends? Maybe you just want to get to know the people in your community.

It's no secret that location-based, social networking is the coming future. FourSquare, Facebook Places, Loopt, etc. are all applications that use the "check-in" feature. We thought: what if we used that concept to help people meet - have them "check-in" with each other. So, the idea for the Commune project was born.
