Brian Anderson

Building a baseball roster is a zero sum game - the team tries to get the 25 best players.

Every roster move should be an upgrade, adding a player better than the one he replaces.

Brian Anderson may not be a star, but since Mark Kotsay had been designated, he had no value to the team, so Anderson is, by definition, an upgrade.

Worst case they got a player who could be a throw in in a larger trade.
