Birdman Of Alcatraz

This week on TCM, my pick is three movies that have nothing in common except for the fact that they all have the word "bird" in the title.

And they're all pretty good.

On Wednesday the 29th, check out Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds (natch), The Birdman of Alcatraz (of course), and Bye, Bye Birdie (whaaaaa?).

A terrifying, trippy horror film; a sensitive account of a real-life prisoner;and a soda-pop silly musical about an Elvis-type singer and his effect on a small town.

At least the first two have actual birds in them.

Sounds like the programmers at Turner Classic have been doing a little nitrous oxide, but I don't mind a little whimsy now and then.
