Big Butter Jesus
The statue, often called Big Butter Jesus because of its color and Touchdown Jesus because of its upraised hands, has generated intense interest on the Web since it was destroyed. James Lynch,
the Jacksonville Beach, Fla.-based artist who helped build the statue based on a design by Brad Coriell, said via email that the lightning strike was an act of nature, not divine retribution, as some
observers have said in blog postings across the web.
