Associate Legal Counsel

Location: Boston, MA

Responsibilities :     Provide guidance regarding compliance with state and federal regulations associated with external funding of research activities.  Oversee all other aspects of Firm research operations in conjunction with the Research Compliance Officer.  Assist with the auditing and monitoring of research operations in conjunction with the Internal Audit Department and any outside individuals or entities.  Provide regulatory advice on clinical trials billing.  Oversee and provide guidance on HIPAA research activities and privacy and confidentiality requirements .

Requirements :  J. D.  required.  Knowledge of regulatory environment, especially in the area of research and federal funding.  Knowledge and/or experience in healthcare, especially in the area of academic medicine.  Ability to act independently and deal effectively with the organization.  Ability to learn, be self-motivated and to expand one's knowledge.  Abiltiy to relate to multiple areas and constituencies and maintain a broad organizational view.  Ability to work with people especially in difficult situations.  Requires excellent interpersonal skils and a demonstrated ability to deal effectively and confidentially with difficult situations.
