Baker Beach, China Beach, and Fort Funston.The first waves produced by the 8.9 earthquake that struck Japan on Friday, hit the Bay Area around 7:30 a.m., with minimal damage reported likely due to
the low tide.One death has been confirmed in Crescent City and another person is still unaccounted for.The natural disaster has left hundreds dead in Japan, and over 500 remain missing.Contact
