Activities Assistant Training Grand Junction

Activities for Life, Therapeutic Services Training Program, Grand Junction: Trains students to work as a paraprofessional in two areas (Human Services Assistant OR as an Activity Assistant (Recreation Therapy Assistant).

Training is held quarterly in GJ, and is also available in Mail Class/Home Study Course. Course is regulations based. Students learn framework of Human Service work: Care Plans, Regulations, Treatment Plans, Therapeutic Care, Art Therapy, Cognition Assessment, Program Development and more.

Training also requires a short internship of a few hours volunteer work at a local human service/health care agency.

What makes Activities for Life, unique is students get the vocational training they need--including what the community needs, and students bypass the high tuitions and seemingly endless student loan payments.
