The Eoltec Scirocco can truly be called the Rolls-Royce under the residential scale wind turbines. For the Scirocco, Eoltec started with a  blank slate and designed it from the ground up using modern CAD/CAM tools, and computational fluid dynamic (CFD) modeling of the airflow to optimize performance. They also brought their large wind turbine experience to bear and incorporated features normally only found on much larger turbines, such as variable pitch blades. The result is a very efficient wind generator, especially at the lower wind speeds typically found most of the time in most places, with an excellent cost/performance ratio.
