Posted: 03/10/2011BALTIMORE - The Baltimore City Fire Department 911 center is getting overwhelmed with calls for flooded basements due to heavy rain.Fire Officials say that unless the situation is
dangerous and there is a need for emergency response or rescue, city residents are asked not to call 911 for flooded basements.It is not a routine practice for the Fire Department to pump flooding
from basements.Fire officials are asking residents to call 311 for flooded basements, 311 will track flooded basement conditions in the city and provide advice regarding the abatement of the flooded
