But the intriguing Egyptian pyramids were more than just tombs for kings. The mysteries surrounding their symbolism, design and purpose have inspired passionate debate. It is likely that many of
these mysteries will never be solvedThe greatest achievements of the pyramid builders were the Pyramids of Giza, built near the capital city of Memphis for the fourth dynasty kings Khufu ( Cheops Pyramid ), Khafre ( Chephren Pyramid )and Menkaure ( Mykerinos Pyramid) who ruled through 2589-2504 BCE. The

allow his transformation and ascension to the afterlife, and a place among the gods. Cairo tour also includes a visit to The mysterious Great Sphinx, with human head and lion's body, is a colossal

Tut" (as he is better known) was found remarkably intact by Howard Carter in the Valley of the Kings in 1923. Artifacts on display include the gold funerary mask and sarcophagus, four huge
gilded boxes that fit inside each other, an ancient trumpet, thrones, and even a royal toilet seat.

assortment of mummified animals and birds. Then move on to Coptic Cairo - home of some of the oldest Christian churches in the world. You’ll retrace the steps where Mary and Joseph walked
