Save Your Cats Life. Check The Dryer

Appliance Repair Technician warns: Several hundred house cats die annually because they chose to climb into a clothes dryer when the dryer was left sitting with the dryer door still open after
use! This is one of the worst preventable tragedies that can occur in an otherwise safe pet environment, your family's home. Just think... a pile of clean clothes in a quiet, dark place...."What a
wonderful cubby hole to rest my weary bones." so says the curious family house cat! We all know what curiosity did to the cat!
The founder and President of Top Cat Appliance Repair, Delayne Hiott says "After performing over 57,000 appliance service calls, our technicians and myself have heard this unfortunate tale way too many times. Many years ago this horrible event happened close to home. Arriving back to my house from my job one afternoon I found my girlfreind balling her eyes out on the front porch. Not only one, but both of our little furry family members had jumped inside the clothes dryer to nap peacefully on that nice pile of laundry that remained in the open dryer. She was playing with the cats in the laundry room while using the washer and dryer when she heard the phone ringing, and ran to grab the call. After the conversation ended she went back to finish the laundy. She pulled a small load from the washing machine and tosed them into the dryer on top of the other clothes since the second load was so small, and both sleeping kittens that were inside made no attempt to jump out or be noticed. She never noticed that while on the telephone both curious kittens discovered a new napping spot, on the nice, soft load of wash left inside the opened door dryer! I'll spare you the details, but I'll let you know she often thought about, as well as shed many tears over losing those poor kitties in that dryer accident, and blamed herself for the incident."
We've got some TERRIFIC news! "WE HAVE A REMEDY!!!" Hiott goes on to say. "One of the best ideas I've come across besides always keeping the door closed is to tape a photo of the family cat on the clothes dryer's door AS WELL AS Front loading washers. (or print and tape photo from this message with our permission!)What better reminder could you possibly have to help you and other users to follow two simple rules.
1. Always shut the dryer and washer door after removing laundry.
2. Always check inside the drum before tossing wash inside.
This problem is so common that fridge magnets for dryer doors have been desinged for this purpose. I looked around on the internet and found one for you. It has a picture of a kitten with the words "WATCH FOR CAT IN DRYER! Each year hundreds of cats die in dryer accidents. Please makes sure the dryer is empty before using." Check it out to get ideas on designing your own reminder or to order one for yourself. Great as gifts too . Link is

Take a few minutes RIGHT NOW to keep your family's lil' buddy safe! No Magnet? No photo handy? NO PROBLEM! Look online to find a cat photo or cut a piece of masking tape and get your kids to help draw a cat, and stick it on the dryer. Now if the door pops open during drying cycle, or you have to fight to close the door, you may have a problem with loose door hinge screws or maybe your door catch is busted. The hinge screws are easy to check and tighten. Some door latches are easily replaced. Call an appliance service company if the unit has to be disassembled to complete this repair. If in Florida, look us up at http://topcatappliance.com and well be happy to come out to complete the dryer repair. In the meanwhile, go NOW, while it's on your mind, and protect your kitty cats!
PS. Please remember your elderly family members and neighbors. Their cats are more likely to be a victim. Quite often the loss of a beloved pet is simular to the passing of a family member. Meows to all!
