Firm Overview. Employment Discrimination &. Class Action Litigation. Based in Chicago, IL, our firm was founded in 1980 by Thomas R. Meites and Lynn S. Frackman. The firm has grown to five partners (four based in Chicago, one based in New York, NY) and two associates. The firm's guiding principle is to pursue cases that have a positive impact on society by advocating on behalf of classes of workers, investors, consumers, and others whose legal rights have been denied. Meites, Mulder, Mollica & Glink represents plaintiffs in nationwide class actions and multi-party complex litigation in federal and state courts, focusing on employment discrimination, workplace benefits, whistleblower actions, consumer rights, and securities litigation. Meites, Mulder, Mollica & Glink has become a national leader in handling large, complex class actions and multi-plaintiff lawsuits in Illinois and throughout the United States. The firm has successfully represented the rights of plaintiffs against numerous corporate and state defendants, including Merrill Lynch, Mitsubishi, Sears, Shell, Amoco, McDonnell-Douglas, United Airlines, and General Motors. Two of the firm's partners, Thomas R. Meites and Paul W. Mollica, were recognized by their peers as two of the top Illinois lawyers for 2003 by the Leading Lawyers Network. Chambers and Partners USA, which ranks America's leading business lawyers, awarded our firm a rare ranking of 1 (one of only three such rankings for Illinois plaintiff-side employment firms) in its 2003 rankings. Chambers & Partners said about Meites, Mulder, Mollica & Glink that. "[t]his small team of lawyers focuses primarily on employment and personal injury, and was enthusiastically described by peers as 'the most promising plaintiffs' firm in the country.' Interviewees pointed to both the 'high quality' of the firm's cases and a number of prominent individuals. The bulk of the team's workload takes the form of class actions and multi-plaintiff cases, and has included a class action filed against Mitsubishi Motor Manufacturing of America, acting as co-counsel with Benassi & Benassi. The case, alleging racial harassment against some 200 employees, was recently settled. In the ERISA field, the group, together with a second plaintiffs' firm, has won class certification in a case against McDonnell Douglas, which is now proceeding to the remedial phase for 1200 class members. Thomas Meites is said to take an intellectual approach to a case, and has 'a fantastic mind.' Paul Mollica also received endorsement as 'one of the brightest lawyers out there,' who employs a 'low-key' style to great effect.". Founding partner Thomas R. Meites received an appointment from the President of the United States in 2003 to serve as a member of the Board of Directors of the Legal Services Corporation, a government body that oversees all the national legal services programs in the country and ensures that free legal assistance is available to low-income Americans. Mr. Meites sees this appointment to the LSC as an opportunity to help more Americans gain access to legal services in areas like employment, fair housing and consumer rights. The firm welcomes opportunities to build co-counsel relationships with other attorneys who seek a partner with class-action expertise. We have a record of success in bringing large, complex cases to a successful conclusion. Please contact us to discuss potential class or multi-plaintiff litigation.
