Mr. Wagner was sworn in as a member of the Florida Bar in February of 1981. In January of 1982, Mr. Wagner established the firm of Law Offices of Gregory M. Wagner, P.A. specializing in personal injury and criminal defense. Mr. Wagner was admitted into the United States District Court in December 1981 and admitted to the Supreme Court of the United States in March 1986. Mr. Wagner is a member of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, as well as a member of the American Association For Justice. Mr. Wagner is also currently a member of the Volusia County Bar Association and the Volusia County Criminal Defense Association. In addition to his professional associations, Mr. Wagner volunteers as a Teen Court Judge with the Volusia County Teen Court Program, a program designed to keep juveniles who have committed minor offenses out of juvenile court. In 2002, Mr. Wagner was presented with the Judge Joseph G. Will, Teen Court Founders Award for dedicated service. Mr. Wagner also volunteers with the Florida Lions Conklin Center for the Blind participating in the bike week motorcycle auction as well as the race week benefit auction. In 2001, Mr. Wagner was presented with a plaque recognizing his outstanding service to the Florida Lions through his work at the Conklin Center for the Blind. Mr. Wagner also participates as a board member with the Family Renew Community, a program designed to provide transitional housing for families who are homeless. Mr. Wagner is currently the President and legal counsel for this non-profit organization. Mr. Wagner also sat on the board of directors for Temple Beth El, a reform Jewish congregation located in Ormond Beach, Florida. Mr. Wagner confines his practice to Volusia and Flagler Counties. This consists of the courthouses in Daytona, Deland, New Smyrna and Bunnell, Florida. Occasionally, Mr. Wagner will travel outside his community if the case warrants the involvement of an out of county lawyer. In most cases, Mr. Wagner believes that a local lawyer with ties to the community will best serve his clients. As a criminal defense lawyer, Mr. Wagner handles all kinds of cases including allegations as serious as murder, drug trafficking and sexual battery, as well as minor misdemeanor cases involving driving under the influence and traffic citations. During his 25 year career, Mr. Wagner has personally handled as the lead attorney over 100 jury trials. He has also personally handled, as lead attorney, hundreds of non-jury trials and motion hearings. Mr. Wagner has been lead attorney on high profile cases such as State v. Quaggin, who was acquitted after a jury trial having been accused of second degree murder. Mr. Wagner has also participated as lead counsel in complex criminal cases involving drug trafficking, racketeering and grand theft. Mr. Wagner has handled cases before every circuit and county judge in the Volusia and Flagler County Courthouses. Mr. Wagner, over the past 25 years, has represented injured parties involved in automobile accidents, slip and falls, dog bites, motorcycle accidents and any type of accident involving personal injuries. Mr. Wagner has been the lead attorney on these kind of cases that have gone to trial, that have been settled during the course of litigation and have been settled pre-suit. Mr. Wagner has represented clients in mediations where settlements have been reached, as well as participated in numerous pre-suit negotiations which have resulted in settlements on behalf of his clients. During these 25 years, Mr. Wagner has personally handled over 500 personal injury cases. Mr. Wagner is in good standing with the Florida Bar and has met all of his continuing legal education requirements. Mr. Wagner has two office staff, as well as a bookkeeper and certified public accountant on retainer. His lead secretary, Jennifer Kaelin, has an extensive background as a legal secretary and is an invaluable asset to this firm. Each month Mr. Wagner’s bank accounts are reviewed and balanced by the accounting firm of Charles Looney, P.A. For 18 years, Mr. Wagner’s law practice was located at 958 South Ridgewood Avenue, Daytona Beach, a beautiful old Spanish home that had been converted into a law office. In November of 2005, Mr. Wagner relocated his office to downtown Daytona which is located at 121 Fairview Avenue on the west side of the Main Street Bridge. This office is just a few minutes away from the Courthouses in Daytona Beach. These courthouses include the Volusia County Courthouse Annex were civil and misdemeanor cases are tried, and the Justice Center were felony cases are litigated and where the State Attorney’s Office is located. Also, traffic court is held at the Administration Building located only a few blocks away from Mr. Wagner’s current location. Mr. Wagner’s operating hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. till 12:00 p.m., closed for lunch and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. If necessary, appointments can be arranged after hours or at a location other then Mr. Wagner’s office if circumstances are warranted. Mr. Wagner provides an initial office consultation at no charge. He believes it is important to sit down with a prospective client so he can understand the special circumstances of his clients case as well as other factors that are involved in quoting a fee. Mr. Wagner will quote a fee based on the circumstances of the client’s case, client’s prior criminal history, expectations of the client and other factors which may be relevant in determining the appropriate fee. There are never any hidden costs or fees as all agreements are set forth in writing on a fee agreement which is signed by Mr. Wagner and his clients. The fee agreement will set forth the terms of the fee and payment schedule if one has been agreed upon. In no circumstances will the Law Office of Gregory M. Wagner incur any expenses without first receiving the consent of his client. For the protection of his clients, Mr. Wagner has purchased Professional Liability Insurance which covers any negligence on behalf of the firm.
