Bicard is Best Training Canter in Pune for Embedded Systems Design Training---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------What is an embedded system? An embedded system is various type of computer system or computing device that performs a dedicated function and/or is designed for use with a specific embedded software application. Embedded systems may use a combination of ‘Read-only' as well as with ‘Read-Write' based operating system. But an embedded system is not usable as a commercially viable substitute for general-purpose computers or devices.
Why Study Embedded Systems? In today's world, embedded systems are everywhere -- homes, offices, cars, factories, hospitals, plans and consumer electronicsThe heart and brain of all the appliances, equipment, and devices that we use in our daily life are encompassed with Electronic Chips, Embedded Processor and Embedded Software.Embedded systems are playing important roles in our lives every day, even though they might not necessarily be visible. Some of the embedded systems we use every day control the menu system on television, the timer in a microwave oven, a cell phone, an MP3 player or any other device with some amount of intelligence built-in. In fact, recent poll data shows that embedded computer systems currently outnumber humans in the WORLD.Each day, our lives become more dependent on 'embedded systems', digital information technology that is embedded in our environment. This includes not only safety-critical applications such as automotive devices and controls, railways, aircraft, aerospace and medical devices, but also communications, 'mobile worlds' and 'e-worlds', the 'smart' home, clothes, factories etc. All of these have wide-ranging impacts on society, including security, privacy and modes of working and living. More than 98% of processors applied today are in embedded systems, and are no longer visible to the customer as 'computers' in the ordinary sense. New processors and methods of processing, sensors, actuators, communications and infrastructures are 'enablers' for this very pervasive computing. They are in a sense ubiquitous, that is, almost invisible to the user and almost omnipresent. As such, they form the basis for a significant economic push.
What is Embedded Software?Embedded software is the software that is included in products, rather than running on desktop PCs or workstations. The applications of embedded software range from small, stand-alone systems such as those found in appliances, to the real-time, networked systems responsible for the control and performance of cars, aircraft, and production plants. Over 99% of the CPUs being produced are used in embedded systems, and embedded software determines an increasing share of the functionality, appeal, and complexity of a product, from cell phones, to automotive engine control systems.
How are Embedded Software's different from Desktop Software's?Limited resources characterize embedded software like time (real-time behavior), power, memory, and bandwidth. Embedded software also needs to achieve a level of quality far higher than that demanded from most other software (nobody wants to reboot their fridge, nor their brake controller).Embedded software also requires a different way of thinking from "desktop software". In desktop software the fundamental notion is sequentially: the computational model consists in the sequential execution of instructions; concurrency (the use of parallel threads) is used sparingly. In contrast, in the real world, and in the systems controlled by embedded software, things happen concurrently: in a car, the four wheels spins and the motor runs, all at the same time. Consequently, the fundamental notion in embedded software is concurrent behavior of the software, and of the system that the software controls.
What is an Embedded OS?An embedded operating system is the software program that manages all the other programs in an embedded device after initial load of programs by a boot loader. It normally guarantees a certain capability within a specified storage size and time constraint as well as with application programs. It also normally has small foot print including initial boot loader, OS kernel, required device drivers, file systems for the user data and so forth. It has very-likely structure of a normal operating system however mainly differentiated by some factors such as type of pre-installed device, functional limits, taking designed job only.Which industry segments need Embedded Systems Development activity? The following industry segments requires Embedded Systems being used:TelecomMobile CommunicationIndustrial engineeringComputers & PeripheralsConsumer ElectronicsAerospaceGovernment/militaryAutomotiveTransportationMedical EquipmentElectronic equipments.
How is Embedded Systems design different from VLSI Design?VLSI Design is basically a hardware-oriented course in which we design the internal Digital circuitry of a chip and write a hardware description code for the same. This course is specifically meant for people with Electronics as their specialization and those who are more interested in internals of CHIP designing.Whereas Embedded Systems Design involves study, programming and interfacing external circuitry to the chip for performing a specific function using both hardware and software in Real time environment and components like DSP and Microcontrollers. So this course mainly deals with external circuitry and programming of chip and thus is suitable for people with Electronics/Computer Science/Electrical as their specialization and who have interest in hardware, systems designing and programming.
What would be the syllabus for the course? The Course syllabus will cover the following subjects:Programming Concepts Understanding of real-time operating systems Real Time Operating Systems Embedded Systems Programming 8/16/32-bit Microcontrollers and Interfacing Digital Signal Processing Embedded Communication Systems Computer architecture and software development methodology.
What are Infrastructure and Facilities available?Fully equipped classrooms to accommodate 20 students and state-of-art labs to explore you're computing skills.Certification of the programme?Yes, we certify all the students who qualify all our evaluations and found to be good in academic and in discipline, throughout the programme. The students will be certified ' Post Graduate Diploma in Embedded System Design'
Library facility? We have well equipped library facility for all subjects and facility available to access online documentations. This provides required resources for the students.
Do we guarantee any Placement?Embedded systems are a rapidly growing industry where growth opportunities are numerous. EMBEDDED SYSTEMS market will literally explode over the next several years and has the greater chances of lucrative job opportunities around the globe. We provide assistance to help them place themselves
