The Senior Planner Analyst is in the Water System Operations Department (WSO) and will be the right hand to the Planner Analyst Supervisor. Responsibilities include providing senior level support, leadership and a variety of complex analytical and complex planning activities related to water systems operations and maintenance. Responsibilities and Duties: Providing technical direction to groups of professionals, support personnel or work crews; conducting performance analysis of personnel; determining and monitoring departmental measures; planning and overseeing work study and training programs; monitoring multiple long term projects; performing complex planning activities for layout of projects. This position is provided a sense of scope and objectives but, is accountable for selection and development of overall tactical plans to achieve them. *Providing technical direction as well as assisting assigned supervisor in identifying training requirements for planner analysts *Teaching junior PAs, supervisors, and crafts people Work Management philosophies, practices, and tools to more efficiently accomplish their work *Maintaining and updating Work Management process manual, related reports and records *Performing in depth analysis of our work practices necessary to identify improvement opportunities *Improving existing tools and developing new tools to advance the Work Management process *Developing and refining preventative and predictive maintenance programs *Creating and refining job plans applying Engineered Work Standards *Creating Location Identifications (LIDs) & Equipment Identifications (EIDs). *Advancing the application of work management processes in WSO work groups *Providing the service of retrieval, research, organization, and reporting of data for all levels of supervision and management often times on an urgent basis *Performing either planner analyst or planner analyst supervisor functions as needed for vacation / sick relief *In addition, the PA Sr. will serve as a Subject Matter Expert in the following areas: o Work Management o Maximo (Resource Management System) o Planner/Scheduler o Developing queries and producing reports o Engineered Work Standards Solid Knowledge Of: *Preventative and predictive maintenance methods, practices and procedures *Work management, measurement, principles, and techniques *Computer hardware and software applications *Managing budgets *Job planning and estimating *Statistical analysis techniques *All applicable safety procedures Skilled In: *Estimating maintenance timeframes and demands *Preparing and executing work orders and job plans *Scheduling, planning, forecasting and analyzing projects *Applying mathematical formulas *Solving complex planning problems *Working in and leading teams *Providing lead and technical direction *Utilizing interpersonal skills to communicate with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction *Following all applicable safety procedures Competencies: *Managing and Measuring Work *Conflict Management *Interpersonal Savvy *Composure *Listening *Planning *Problem Solving *Drive for Results *Perseverance *Written Communications Physical Requirements: Positions in this class typically require: reaching, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
