Responsibilities: Research Assistant Professor/Postdoctoral Research Associate Job Description: Seeking highly motivated individuals with potential for independent funding, and training in the areas of molecular and cellular biology and animal models to work on the characterization of signal transduction pathways involved in regulating cardioprotection from ischemic injury. The focus of the laboratory is on the scaffold protein intersectin (ITSN) and its role in the integration of diverse cellular signals particularly from receptor tyrosine kinases (see http://www.uic.edu/depts/mcph/obryan.htm for more details). Special consideration will be given to individuals with previous postdoctoral experience seeking to become independent researchers. Applicants must have an M.D. or Ph.D. degree, must be eligible for employment in the U.S. and should be available for personal interviews.
