Tom Popcan was born in Ireland in the sixties. As an experienced artist and traveler, this is his first novel. He currently lives and works in Los Angeles.
The novel is set in the South West American desert in August 2009. Four city executives leave New York after the Wall Street crash. Four city executives leave New York after the Wall Street crash. Two Bonnie and Clyde the south, a third buys a textile factory and marries the fourth Jane and lives in their desert palace.
Two of the executives hold up the other executive and put the desert palace under siege. In the heat and aridness of the summer desert they wait it out. The palace prisoners stage a break out and there is a final show down and shoot out with the cops. When it is over they throw a summer's night party where MC Daid triumphs over adversary and wins the heart of the queen of the desert.
Mr. MC Daid is a rich, humorous, middle aged man who likes to solo on the saxophone, lounge about the pool and throw parties. He has left New York after the wall street crash to build a textile empire and has decided to run for governor and look for a wife. They honeymoon in the Bahamas and come back to his desert palace.The book opens as she is about to leave him for location, financial and romantic reasons.
