SYDNEY, Australia - October 05, 2010 - Samsung Electronics Australia has unveiled two new 3D Blu-ray PVR players, the Samsung BD-C8900A and BD-C8800A, capable of recording all your favourite 2D and 3D shows in High Definition (HD) with the integrated digital TV tuner. Featuring an inbuilt memory of 500GB, the Samsung BD-C8900A records up to 120 hours of HD TV content, while the Samsung BD-C8800A records up to 60 hours of HD TV content on its 250GB memory. So instead of having to set an alarm to catch early morning international sports matches, or rushing home to see the next episode of your favourite TV program, you'll be able to conveniently record TV content with the push of a button.
"These new Samsung 3D Blu-ray PVR players complete the ultimate Samsung 3D at-home Full HD 1080p picture quality experience,” said Evan Manolis, Group Manager - AV, Samsung Electronics Australia. "We're offering Australian consumers the chance to future proof their living rooms with tomorrow's technology today. Beyond their ability to play and record 2D and 3D content, these Blu-ray players also allow for easier content sharing with other devices using wireless AllShare or USB 2.0 connectivity, and include a wireless LAN Adapter with access to Samsung's [email protected] services and Samsung Apps.”
Go beyond just watching movies and enjoy a fully connected experience from the comfort of your lounge with [email protected] on Samsung's BD-C8900A and BD-C8800A Blu-ray players. You'll be able to effortlessly connect to the internet using the built-in wireless adapter or an Ethernet cable and enjoy what the web has to offer by browsing through the Samsung Apps library and personalising your experience across a range of options including video, music, news and social networking.
Both the Samsung BD-C8900A and BD-C8800A also feature Samsung's AllShare™ technology so you can connect all your DLNA compatible electronics (laptops, cameras, mobile phones) around your home to your TV and share music, photos, videos and more from one device to another. USB 2.0 connectivity also allows you to transfer content to and from the Hard Disk Drive or expand the player's memory if required.
In August, the BD-C8900A won the prestigious 2010-2011 European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA) Awards in the Blu-ray player category. It was particularly noted by the judges that the BD-C8900A "delivers extraordinarily high picture quality from Blu-ray Discs to any of today's HD displays, even when reproducing 3D."
The Samsung BD-C8900A and BDC8800A will be available from late September for RRP $899 and $699 respectively.
