Relaxation or recreation? It's your choice.

Hugging the coast along the Gulf of Mexico, Sunset Pointe at Collany Key blends the surf, sky, and sand into an exquisite combination of unspoiled beauty. Everything you need is just around the corner, yet feels like it's worlds away. Set atop 18 luscious acres, Sunset Pointe is nestled between a residential community of luxurious single-family homes and preservation land, protected from future development. If you feel like sticking close to home, there are plenty of cozy neighborhood restaurants and shops to sample. Aside from all the local essentials, you'll find plenty of interesting attractions nearby.

Get in touch with your inner explorer. Take a short boat ride to see the natural, undeveloped beauty of Shell Island, home to one of the world's highest concentrations of bottle-nosed dolphins. The island is known as home to hundreds of pelicans, herons, cormorants, and other native seabirds.

Hike, bike, or Rollerblade to Ft. DeSoto Park, recently named America's Top Beach by Trip Advisor. One look at the soft, white sand; calm, clear water; and laid-back atmosphere, and you'll see why it consistently earns top honors in the travel community. More than a ‘best of' beach with great shelling and spectacular dunes, the park also offers great swimming, two fishing piers, camping, canoe and nature trails, plus a 105-year-old historic fort. A beach a day… You might have a tough time deciding which beach is your favorite. You can choose from the private beach at Collany Key in front of the residences. Nearby Shell Island hosts six miles of a beautiful beach. Ft. DeSoto Park, within two miles, is only a short walk, ride or Rollerblade trip away. And St. Pete Beach stretches seven miles from Pass-a-Grille to Blind Pass.

Sports lover's dream. Tampa Bay is home to a number of professional athletic teams. You can catch a Tampa Bay Buccaneers game at Raymond James Stadium or enjoy a Tampa Bay Rays baseball game in nearby downtown St. Petersburg at Tropicana Field. Up for a friendly round of golf? You can spend an afternoon playing a round at one of several championship golf courses nearby, including the prestigious Isla Del Sol Yacht and Country Club. Every April many streets in downtown St. Petersburg are transformed to host the annual Grand Prix of St. Petersburg. Tampa Bay offers an incredible calendar of professional and amateur sport events, in addition to annual events.

Fashionable fun. Just across Sarasota Bay, you'll fall in love with St. Armand's Circle, a tribute to circus magnate, John Ringling. Its continental flavor is expressed everywhere you look along this enchanting stretch of antique shops, galleries, fine restaurants, and nightlife. Delight in a candlelit feast, featuring award-winning cuisine from around the world, or see how lovely the sights look from a horse-drawn carriage.

St. Petersburg's Pier is always full of excitement. Wednesdays are alive with Big Band music at the Oldies but Goodies Dance. Set out for a two-hour sunset sail with a small, intimate group of friends or visit The Pier Aquarium, with eight tanks of sea life from oceans around the world.

Always something to celebrate. In addition to the many spur-of-the-moment events that decorate St. Pete's calendar, there are plenty of annual celebrations that residents anxiously await every year. The Vinoy makes the perfect backdrop for the Mainsail Arts Festival, featuring the works of over 200 artists, where you can marvel at the masterpieces while listening to top-name entertainment and sampling delicious delicacies. The Florida Orchestra puts on a free outdoor concert each Fall in North Straub Park. Springtime brings the American Stage to Demen's Landing, where you can sit under the stars and enjoy a picnic and a play. The South's largest civic celebration is St. Petersburg's Festival of States, which includes music, fashion shows, parades, writing competitions, and more. If fast action is more your speed, be sure to catch the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, where Formula One cars race wheel-to-wheel along the waterfront. There is always something special happening.

Still a kid at heart? In less than two hours, you can experience the magic of Walt Disney World and Epcot, see how the ‘under half' lives at Sea World, or take a peek behind the scenes at Universal Studios. Closer to home, you can satisfy your animal instincts at Busch Gardens, the Florida Aquarium, or the Lowry Park Zoo in Tampa.
