As of 3:20 p.m., we knew for sure: Michael Jackson, one of the most iconic pop stars in history, is dead.

He was not breathing when paramedics arrived and got to the hospital in a deep coma.

The contributions that Jackson, 50, made to the world of music are almost too big to put into words.

Love him or hate him, pretty much everyone on the planet knows him.

And that caused big problems for a lot of huge websites today with the news of his passing.4:36 -- The New York Times has updated its story about the pop star's death with reaction from collaborator and friend Quincy Jones.
