After the successful launch of iPad in U.S, Apple has announced 28th of May as international launch date for nine different countries. iPad records remarkable progress in sales stats with 1 million units sold in a week. It is analysed that almost 7 million units will be sold by the end of this year. Anticipation for user behaviour is also held high.
Analysis of iPad usage and buying trend gives quite surprising results. It was identified that men lying in group 35-44 age group were among these early users of iPad, and these people belong to the higher economic class of the U.S. A percentage of 94% was from similar higher economic class where the iPad consumer ratio of women and men is 1:2.
Stats are also collected for few of the popular site usage on the tablet, including Flickr, Finance, Sports and News at Yahoo. Figures reveal that Flickr's usage on iPad is 143% higher than average use at Yahoo's site itself. As iPad is designed for media consumption and Internet exploration so such an average is accepted as better choice from the users. Other positions were filled in by Finance, News and sports. As almost 48% Yahoo users use iPhone already. So it isn't surprising to see the same OS integrated iPad with them.
Users for now show a mixed reaction for their iPad. Most of them think that it's just a book reader a large 9.6 inches screen, while others enjoy playing games on the virtual controller. As such iPad has not found any reason of making its place in user's routine life. E-mail or eBook reader, Gaming experience, various Apple applications, magazines, iAd and what else? No particularly unique function to access in the iPad. It can be around $900 (with 64GB capacity) spending, so be careful in making your pick; it can be your best buy of the year or almost worst. I can't really help in making the choice because actually I bought it and I like it but my friends bought and they don't. The device has still potency for expansion.
