Is The Haunting In Connecticut Based On A True Story? June 27th, 2009 - 9:03 pm ICT by GD - This March release horror movie has been the surprise hit of the season.

It is said to be based on the true story of the Snedeker family's experiences of the supernatural.

The family is said to be residing in Southington in Connecticut.

The promotional stages of the film had claimed that it was based on a true story, almost highlighting the fact. The film kicks off with the Campbell (in the film) family moving in to their new house in uptown Connecticut and end up discovering that there is some disturbing history related to the house.

Strange and unheard of things begin to happen and the family is brought under a reign of terror.

They are even ignorant of all the supernatural developments in their house.

The family soon learns that the house's previous owner's young son Jonah had been involved in dealings with the dark forces, bringing shadow of the spirit's on the house.

Now, the same terrifying boy Jonah has returned to weave a tale of horror and misery on the Campbell, who are quite unaware of what is taking place in their house.A book was written on the topic by author Ray Garton, named In A Dark Place.

He had said however, that while investigating for the book, several loopholes were detected between the versions told by the various house members.

Even the local police had stated that people were going to be disappointed as there was no ghost in the house.

The latest development on the film's front is that, after its success, a sequel is being planned "The Haunting in Georgia".Sphere: Related ContentRelated StoriesHorror film draws attention - Mar 23, 2009TV full of horror, thanks to Bollywood - Mar 15, 2009William Friedkin''s ''The Exorcist'' voted ''Greatest Horror Film of all Time'' - Oct 31, 2008I prefer to play dark characters: Emraan Hashmi - Dec 26, 2008'Yagna' - a horror flick gone terribly wrong (Kannada Film Review) - Apr 18, 2009Bhatts making Indian version of 'The Omen' - Jul 21, 2008The Amityville Truth and Horror - Aug 26, 2008Goldie Behl to go with sequel of 'Drona' anyways - Sep 17, 2008'Tom Cruise wants to promote 'Valkyrie' in India' - Jan 20, 2009Jennifer Love Hewitt keeps lucky charm for safety - Jun 16, 200965 Categories - EntertainmentTags - dark forces - experiences - ghost - haunting in connecticut - haunting in georgia - horror movie - jonah - loopholes - misery - reign of terror - s young - sequel - snedeker family - spirit - supernatural - surprise - true story Subscribe to Entertainment News in a readerPosted in Entertainment, |
