Taconic Parkway Accident

A Taconic Parkway accident tonight has killed 8 people.

The Taconic Parkway accident near Westchester and Briarcliff Manor killed a mother driving a minivan and four to five children inside.The accident happened as she was heading south on a northbound lane of the Taconic State Parkway.

Her minivan was hit by an SUV, then another car, then rolled off the hill, and burst into flames.

The family was from Long Island, Floral Park and West Babylon.This was the second accident on the Taconic Parkway just today alone, both times cars going the wrong way, only 20 miles apart from either.

The parkway is only 100 miles in length.Investigators are reportedly unsure as of this evening why two such wrong way drivers happened the same day, and so close to each other.

The names of the passengers have not been released.
