The mid-term elections are over and the American voters have spoken: Because of discontent with Washington led by the likes of Democrats Obama, Pelosi and Reid, the Republicans have made significant gains.

The GOP victory means control of the House of Representatives, 195 to 142, and at least four Senate seats..
