Wausau, WI (PRESS RELEASE) July 16th, 2009 - Chris Wimmer has a busy week of racing ahead of him.

First he heads toDells Raceway Park Saturday, July 18th for the Silver 125, then turns his #52 Chevy around on Sunday for aday of practice at Slinger Speedway Monday for the Miller Lite Slinger Nationals on Tuesday.

"It's definitelya crazy week," says Wimmer, "But it'll be a lot of fun, especially if everything goes well.

It's alwayshard when you only have a day or so between races, but I have good guys helping me out and we'll beready for practice at Slinger Monday." The Silver 125 in Wisconsin Dells is the second of three Wimmer has as part of the ASA Midwest Tour"Race or the Gold." The driver who has the highest point total after the three races receives a $4,000block of gold.

"I think it's a neat thing they are doing," says Wimmer, "Last year we never visited thesame track more than once.

They've changed that up this year and I think it's a great idea.

I used to raceat Dells a lot and always enjoy going back." Wimmer qualified 16th for the Bronze 125 back in May and worked his way up in to the top-ten before sufferinga mechanical failure and being forced to pull off the track.

"I thought my car was actually prettygood that last time," says Wimmer, "I didn't qualify too well, but my car seemed to race ok, but then webroke a driveshaft which was a big disappointment." Just two days after the Silver 125 Wimmer heads to Slinger Speedway for a day of practice before competingin the Miller Lite Slinger Nationals on Tuesday, July 21st.

"Slinger is always one of my favorite racesof the year," says Wimmer, "It's also on of the biggest in this area, so I'm really looking forward to it.Hopefully we can get through Saturday at Dells ok and not have too much to do to turn the car around onSunday." Last year Wimmer qualified 4th for the Slinger Nationals and drove his #52 Chevy to an 8th place finish."My car was pretty good there last year," says Wimmer, "It gives me something to build off of for thisyear." NASCAR Sprint Cup starts Matt Kenseth and Kyle Busch will highlight the field at Slinger, but the last timeKenseth and Wimmer were on the same track, it was the #52 who made a late pass of the #17 to take thecheckered flag.

"Matt always runs really good at Slinger," says Wimmer, "And Kyle seems to run goodeverywhere.

There's going to be a lot of good drivers and you need to have a good car just to make therace." A win at Slinger Nationals is something Wimmer has always hoped for.

Not just because it's one of the biggestraces in the Midwest, but the trophy is named after his late Uncle, Larry Detjens, who won the first everSlinger Nationals.

"Larry is a big reason why my brother Scott and I are so in to racing, " says Wimmer, "I'vewon the Larry Detjens Memorial Race, but have never been able to win the Nationals.

To bring home the trophywith his name on it would be awesome." Qualifying gets underway at 4:30pm Saturday with racing starting at 6:30 pm.

Tuesday at Slinger qualifyingbegins at 3pm and the 200 lap feature is set to start at 7pm.

Tickets for both races can be bought beforehand or at the gate.

Wimmer still seeks primary sponsorship for this weekend and the rest of the year.
