Jerry Silverman, a longtime SEPTA rider, urged the board prior to their vote not to completely remove Pattison from the stations name.

Silverman pointed to a naming rights agreement reached last year between New Yorks Metropolitan Transportation Authority and Barclays, in which Barclays name was instead added to the Atlantic Avenue/Pacific Station in Brooklyn
