Richardson has now been traded three times this offseason, having first been dealt from New York to Memphis on draft night in June and then sent from the Grizzlies to the Clippers last Friday.

Telfair, 23, averaged a career-high 9.8 points, 4.6 assists and 1.7 boards in 75 games with the Timberwolves last season.

Selected 13th overall by Portland out of high school in the 2004 NBA Draft, the New York City native holds career averages of 8.2 points, 4.0 assists and 1.7 rebounds in 349 career tilts with Trail Blazers, Celtics, and Timberwolves.

Smith, who was selected 36th overall by Minnesota in the '06 NBA Draft, has averaged 8.9 points and 4.5 rebounds in 233 career games over three seasons with the Timberwolves.

The former Boston College standout averaged a career- high 10.1 points with 3.8 rebounds in 74 games last season.

Madsen, a nine-year NBA veteran, has played in 453 career NBA games and has averaged 2.2 points and 2.6 rebounds.

The 6-foot-9, 255-pound Stanford product started his career in Los Angeles after being selected by the Lakers as the 29th overall selection in the 2000 draft.

"We are really excited to add these three players to our team," said Clippers general manager and head coach Mike Dunleavy.

"This move really gives some much needed depth." It apparently wasn't an easy move for the Timberwolves.

"While it's difficult to part ways with three outstanding young men who have been such an important part of this team and this community, this move provides us additional flexibility as we continue to reshape our roster into one positioned for long-term success," said Timberwolves president of basketball operations David Kahn.

"I want to thank Sebastian, Craig and Mark for all their contributions to this organization and wish them the best of luck moving forward.

I expect them to be key parts of next season's Clippers team." Richardson, who was selected 18th overall in the 2000 NBA Draft by the Clippers, averaged 10.2 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 1.6 assists in 72 games (51 starts) with the Knicks last season.

The 6-foot-6 DePaul product owns career averages of 11.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.6 assists in 601 career contests with the Clippers, Suns and Knicks.
