Some 2,500 athletes participated in Sunday's triathlon after some 1,700 took part in Saturday's Sprint distance event (see related story).

Sunday's triathlon featured a 1.5K swim, a 40K bike and a 10K run.

Richard Adler, CEO of the Philadelphia Triathlon, says you have to make the decision to take part in this pretty far out:"The men and women who get ready for this race, whether they are doing the Olympic or the sprint are usually training anywhere from 6 weeks to 6 months to get ready for it."And spots for the Olympic distance triathlon were all filled up by November of last year.
