Franken says he'll focus on energy, health in SenateCourt ruling, Coleman's concession gives Democrats 60-seat majorityBy Robert Schroeder, MarketWatchLast Update: 6:12 PM ET Jun 30, 2009WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- A smiling Al Franken said Tuesday he'll focus on energy and health-care reform when he's sworn in as a U.S.

senator from Minnesota, just after rival Norm Coleman conceded a long-fought race in the wake of a court ruling saying Franken had won the disputed seat.

"We have a lot of work to do in Washington but that's why I signed up for the job in the first place," Franken said Tuesday, following Coleman's concession.

The two had been battling over the November 2008 Senate election, which Franken won by just 312 votes out of 2.9 million.

The Minnesota Supreme Court on Tuesday ruled that Franken won the seat, leaving few remaining options for Coleman to challenge the contested election.

Coleman's concession later on Tuesday cleared the way for Franken to take the seat.
