Actor Karl Malden has died today at the age of 97 of natural causes.

Malden was perhaps�best known for his role in the 1970s crime show, The Streets of San Francisco.

He was also the face of American Express for many year delivering the line, "Don't leave home without it."His career spanned decades and he appeared in a whole host of films, including A Street Car Named Desire.

He won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor�in 1951 for his role in that movie.Karl, like Michael Jackson who died just days ago, was from Gary, Indiana.

Karl leaves behind his wife,�Mona Greenberg,�to whom he was married since 1938 -�being, perhaps, the longest Hollywood marriage ever.�
