The Jets made their third, and presumably final pick in the draft, choosing Nebraska G Matt Slauson in the sixth round.

They had some insider knowledge of Slauson because he used to play for OL coach Bill Callahan, the former head coach at Nebraska. The best thing about Slauson is his versatility, as he has played right guard, left tackle and right tackle.

He was an all-conference player in the Big 12, which is quite an accomplishment.

At 6-5, 316, he has terrific size, tall enough to slide out to tackle.

He has good athletic ability (34 inch vertical jump) and he's been very durable.

On the downside, he tends to drop his hands and doesn't play with as much power as he should.

He's "soft bellied," according to the scouting report in Pro Football Weekly.Slauson will provide offensive-line depth.

Can he play tight end? Right now, the Jets have only one on the roster - Dustin Keller.

You can bet they'll be in the market for a veteran in the coming weeks.
