Good day, Abu Dhabi.

It's hot again.

As in a high of 94 degrees with a feels-like heat index of 105 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

And sparse rain chances to boot.Bay News 9 chief meteorologist Mike Clay reported heat indices of 110 "at times over the last few hours." Perhaps Klystron 9 is generating its own thermal wave.

Some wind gusts up to 21 mph from the northwest might provide a little relief along the coast, but inland areas will bake.Rain chances improve slightly to 30 percent tonight but lows will drop only to 79 degrees.

Some areas could receive up to a half inch from localized, potentially strong storms.

Those storms could help some spots recoup from a sluggish start to the summer rain season.

After experiencing a historically wet May, Tampa is at a 2.73-inch rain deficit for June according to preliminary National Weather Service data.

Petersburg, which has also had less than an inch of rain this month, has seen 3.13 inches less than statistical norms.

Still, according to data released last week, the area is not considered under drought conditions, no matter what shade of brown your lawn just turned.
