Kim Peek, the inspiration for the Oscar-winning movie "Rain Man," will return to Brunswick on July 16 for a second speech this year to raise money for Medina County's adult literacy program, Project: LEARN.

About 140 people attending a May luncheon were impressed by Peek's demonstration of his extraordinary memory.

Peek is able to remember more than 98 percent of everything he reads.

His second appearance in Brunswick will be at noon July 16 at the Diamond Events hall, 1480 Pearl Road.

Cost is $20.

Peek, who lives in Salt Lake City, suffered brain damage at birth and has an IQ of 73.

Project: LEARN operates its BookShelf at 105 W.

The used bookstore holds more than 10,000 books donated by adult literacy supporters.
