The Los Angles Galaxy and Kansas City Wizards battled to a 1-1 draw at CommunityAmerica Ballpark on Saturday night in Major League Soccer action.Goals by Claudio Lopez and Landon Donovan in the first half were all either team could muster.The draw snapped a four-game winning streak by the Galaxy (6-3-10), who lead the league with 10 draws through 19 games this season.

Kansas City (5-6-6) is now second-from-the-bottom in the Eastern table, with games in hand on every team except New England.

Lopez scored the game's first goal in the 26th minute when he fired a long- range shot from midfield to catch L.A.

The ball went just over the Jamaican keeper's hands before he crashed into the post, injuring his back.

Josh Saunders replaced Ricketts in goal after the play.Donovan tied the score for the Galaxy seven minutes later when he collected a pass in the midfield and drove toward the K.C.


The defense didn't close, so he unleashed a hard, low shot just inside the left post for his eighth goal of the season.The Galaxy are off next week, with their next MLS match being at New England on Aug.


The Wizards play at FC Dallas next Saturday in their next league fixture.Game Notes
