Wednesday, June 24, 2009Hawks set to get Crawford from WarriorsAtlanta, GA (Sports Network) - The Atlanta Hawks are reportedly close to finalizing a trade that would bring them guard Jamal Crawford
from Golden State.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and other media sources are reporting the deal, in which the Hawks would send guards Acie Law and Speedy Claxton to the Warriors.
Crawford averaged 19.7 points, splitting his season between the Warriors and New York Knicks.
The 29-year-old also came in with 4.4 assists and 3.3 rebounds per contest.
He was traded from New York to Golden State in November.
During his career with the Bulls, Knicks and Warriors, Crawford has averaged 15.2 points a game.
The move could be necessary for the Hawks because starting point guard Mike Bibby and backup guard Flip Murray are both due to become unrestricted free agents this season.
Law averaged three points over 55 contests, while the injury-plagued Claxton played in just two games last season.
He sat out the entire 2007-08 campaign due to a knee injury.
