Three days after Michael Jackson's death, fans continued to pay tribute to the pop star outside the Jackson family compound.

Dozens braved the heat today to visit the Encino home.

"I grew up with his music," said 25-year-old Nancy Bingham of Glendale, who was among those at the scene.

Bingham said she had signed up for cable channel BET so she could see tonight's awards show, with its celebrity tributes to Jackson.

Bingham, who arrived with her 9-year-old son, Jonathan, said that visiting the Jackson family home was important because it made her feel closer to the star.

Cars and trucks lined entire blocks near the Jackson residence, while journalists set up tents and sat in lawn chairs, waiting for people to interview.

The crowd has been about the same size each day since Jackson died, with dozens of mourners and fans turning up at the home.Capt.

John Egan of the Los Angeles Police Department said neighbors in the area have been understanding about the commotion but that some have complained about generators from news organizations running until about 2 a.m.

nightly.Melina Dorian, who lives in the Encino neighborhood, was not among the critics.

She stood outside the Jackson home this morning, a ritual she has performed every day to see what new gifts fans leave."It just keeps growing and growing," Dorian said.

She said Jackson was part of the "soundtrack" of her life."There's a memory with every song," she said.-- Nicole Santa Cruz
