How does your business compare to your industry?

You likely have a CPA that does your taxes and maybe prepares some financial statements. However, its unlikely that they are analyzing your results. Thats what we do. We have sole proprietorship data from 151 industries, S-Corp data from 82 industries and C-Corp data from 251 industries. We will analyze your results against industry averages and evaluate your business using a very simple technique that EVERYONE can relate to: report cards.

Using the standard grading scale that schools use, we will grade each of the major lines of your income statement. We set the industry data to be C grade and grade accordingly based on how far from the industry your results are. We also will give you an overall grade, or GPA based on a weighted average of each income statement line's grade. If you get an F for interest expense but interest expense is only 1% of revenues, the F will have a small impact on GPA because interest expense is only 1% of your business. However, if you get an A for cost of sales and cost of sales is 50% of your business, then that A will have a large impact on GPA.

We also give you visual representation of your results. It is proven that people retain information better and faster if it is in picture form instead of words and numbers. We provide charts and graphs that are very easy to understand. You can absorb in minutes visually what will take you an hour to comprehend if in words and numbers format. Because we are CPAs, we will also give you a written summary of our findings, suggestions for improvement and other recommendations.

You may be asking, "But our numbers will be much different than the averages?" Yes, but each each line as a percengage of revenues will be simlar for most businesses within an industry. For example, a labor intensive industry will have a higher percengage of salaries and wages than an industry that is product driven. Conversely, a product driven industry will have much higher cost of sales percentage than a non product driven industry.

We are Certified Public Accountants that want to to more for our clients than just tax or bookkeeping. We want to help them improve. When we were looking at the services provided by other CPA firms, they all listed many services and typically offered the same services. However, based on my experience working in the industry, they really only provide tax, bookkeeping and attestation services. They all offer this large menu of services and all claim to be different. We want to create a niche and our niche is helping our clients make more money by providing financial analysis using our technology and our experience.

All we need is your income statement. If you want to see trends, you should also send monthly income statements. We will enter this data into our system and will provide you a report card and recommendations for improvement. Contact us for a FREE sample report that shows how effectively it conveys your results.
