Always give up the goods Gwen Sadler No matter how many times the authorities tell people to just let go of their wallets or purses when they're being mugged, some just don't listen.

A woman who'd just left a restaurant in the Irongate Village Shopping Center in the 6400 block of Iron Bridge Road at about 9:35 p.m.

on June 9 was surprised by three young women who confronted her as she walked to her car.

One of them demanded that she give them her purse.

Another hit her, knocking her to the ground.

All of them kicked her while trying to grab the purse that she clung to.

This victim was lucky; the suspects thought they heard someone coming, so they ran to a car and drove away before they managed to snatch her purse or seriously hurt her.

All the suspects are described as black females between the ages of 17-20 years old.

In other crimes: Brander's Bridge Road.

At about 9:30 p.m.

on June 14, someone knocked on the door of a residence in the 18100 block.

The resident answered the door, and the suspect handed her a small bottle, saying it was a gift.

The suspect then asked the victim for a dollar, and to use her bathroom.

The victim opened her purse to get a dollar, and the suspect grabbed the handbag and ran to a car before driving away.

Dottie Drive.

Between midnight on June 14 and 5:15 a.m.

on June 15, someone cut the lock off a shed at the Greenleigh Mobile Home Park in the 14400 block and stole a four-wheeler and a dirt bike.

East River Road.

Just after 2 a.m.

on June 14, police responded to the Liberty Mart in the 3000 block because an alarm was set off.

Someone had shattered the front window with a bowling ball and stolen consumable goods.

Huguenot Road.

Between 1 p.m.

on June 12 and 1:15 p.m.

on June 13, someone broke into an office suite at Huguenot Commons in the 1500 block, damaged office equipment and took some billing information.

Hull Street Road.

Between 2 a.m.

and 9:45 a.m.

on June 12, someone took money from a safe at the Wendy's in the 6800 block.

There were no signs of forced entry to the building or the safe.

• Between 5 p.m.

on June 9 and 1 p.m.

on June 10, someone stole tires from two vehicles parked at the Auto Mart lot in the 7100 block.

Jefferson Davis Highway.

Between 6 p.m.

on June 14 and 9 a.m.

on June 15, someone broke out windows on several vehicles at Auto World of Chester and Easy Ride Auto Sales in the 11600 block.

A stereo was stolen from one car.

River Tree Drive.

Between 5 p.m.

on June 11 and 8:30 a.m.

on June 15, someone stole a dishwasher from a residence at the Rivermont Apartments in the 1500 block.

There were no signs of forced entry.

Walmart Way.

Between 7:15 p.m.

and 8:40 p.m.

on June 10, someone stole a man's wallet from his pocket while he was shopping in the Wal-Mart store in the 900 block.

The victim went to the service desk to report the incident and discovered that his wallet had been found in the parking lot and turned in to store personnel.

Money and other items were missing from the recovered wallet.

West Hundred Road.

Between 6:50 p.m.

and 8 p.m.

on June 14, someone armed with a handgun approached a couple leaving a restaurant in the 2600 block and demanded that the woman give him her purse and that the man hand over his cash.

After getting both, the suspect ran away.

The victims chased the suspect, but didn't catch the perpetrator.

In addition to cash, the suspect got away with consumable goods, electronics and other property.
