There is a four week beginner's course for learning meditation and yoga at the Ananda Marga Center in Chorlton.

The classes will run on wednesdays, 6.30-8pm, on the 15th, 22nd and 28th of September and the 6th of October. Everyone is welcome.

Cost: Donation (free if you're really finding money difficult atm) :)

The yoga we practice is hatha yoga, which are slow postures based on breathing and repetition. They promote deep relaxation and peace, which aids physical and emotional balance,meditation and all round well-being. There are also more vigorous yogic dances we teach, which are really good fun.

The meditation is mantra based and from the Yogic tradition (so not buddhist, although they are compatible). Hints and tips at getting these practices integrated into your daily life will also be part of the course.

Benefits include: improved concentration, peaceful and sustainable mental states, increased immuno efficiency, improved memory, greater flexibility (mentally and physically), heightened awareness, increased capacity for empathy and compassion, sometimes immense joy and deep peace, leaning how to still the busy mind, helps cure insomnia, amongst many, many others.

Attendance of the whole course is highly recommended, and those who complete the course will have the opportunity to learn a personal mantra and meditation technique from a yogic monk/nun. For FREE!
